Oral presentation: Christmas and its traditions

My self avaluation:

Presentation: I think that our presentation was easy but clear at the same moment. We have put photos and not very much text… We use a program called “Prezi” that I’ve never use before but instead I like it very much.

Body language and eyes contactI’m sad for this because I was so nervous that I cannot take out my eyes from the paper, because I was concerned that I can forget anything that I must say and sincerely, I don’t like very much speak in public, but I know that it’s very important.

Structure: The structure was okay. I think it was clear and orderly. What I don’t like very much (and after the presentation have I thought seriously) was that Berta said a lot of things at the beginning (seamessly) and after I said a lot of things semessly too, but I had like that we interspersed the text in little parts for everyone.

Content: I think our content was interesting and there were new things for everyone...but the problem could be that it was too much information for only 10 minutes of presentation.

Language: We had search an easy and clear language, so everyone had got a good comprehension. But the problem could be words from many countries very strange and that could be a distraction for the comprehension of the other things.

Pronuntation: It can be many errors and bad pronunciation in occasionally moments but we had try to do it the best possible.

This is what I say in ours presentation, Berta and mines.

- And now I’m going to explain different examples of countries from different continents and which Christmas celebration is typical from each one.

In Spain: The 22th of December, the Christmas parties begin.
The decoration of the houses is a little simple: we can find a Christmas crib or a Christmas tree – nothing in comparison with the USA or northern European countries.
The 24th of December, we celebrate Christmas Eve: “Nochebuena”, and the whole family meets.
The dinner of Christmas Eve is mostly a roast turkey, lamb, ham, seafood and other exquisite products. The children sing Christmas carols: “villancicos”.
The next day, we celebrate Christmas with a good dinner.
The 28th is the April Fools' Day, the people spend jokes.
The 31th of December we celebrate Christmas Eve and our tradition is to eat 12 grapes for every ring of the clock.
The 3 magic kings Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar bring presents to the children, in the night of the 5th January.

In China: In these dates many trades decorate the shop windows with Christmas decoration and put the tree with his corresponding adornments, especially in the foreign malls.
The most modern families mount the tree in house, and the children put the sock in order that Shengdan Laoren (the Old man of the Christmas) brings the gifts. The merchants, certainly, are been charmed with it.
With regard to the dinner of Christmas Eve, in general, only the Christian community celebrates it. The young people normally go out for dinner, the day of Christmas – and as it is a foreign custom, they celebrate it eating pizza. All the pizzerias and restaurants of Kunming's western food are full that night.

In Cuba: The Christmas plates of the dinner of Christmas Eve could be salads accompanying the pig, yucca with very much garlic, fricassee of chicken, congri, bananas; there can’t be missing the wine and the cider, the desserts and nougats.
The Christmas trees are fashionable in the popular neighborhoods of Havana and in the whole Cuba every end of year. The red and green decorations prevail in the places of the tourists in the capital as the historical center and the areas of the embassy.
The tradition of meeting loved persons, of preparing the dinner and holiday in Christmas Eve has not gone lost, in spite of the changes that the Cuban Revolution involves Christmas in its traditions, even between those that are defined as slightly religious.
The Christmas is the most important holiday, they give each other gifts, and it’s a day of celebration in eve of the New Year. The creation of the Spanish Roman Catholicism turned Cuba into a Christian nation. The holiday of Christmas was celebrated until 1969 and in 1988 it was gaining force with major enthusiasm, all the residents are glad to be in Cuba and the attraction of many visitors for the enjoyment of the marvels that offers the country in this date.

In Egypt: Here, they don’t celebrate the Jesus born on 25th of December, but instead they celebrate 7th of January.
From 25th of December to the 6th of January, they have to stop eating meat until the great day, and then they sup on Fatta, a plate of rice with meat.
The Christmas holidays are celebrate a few days before January 7th, and the Christmas trees and the decorations start to be present... The Christmas cards also a much respected tradition in Egypt. At the moment of buying the gifts, the Egyptians go to the bazaars organized for benefits for local reasons…
To midnight during the mass, the rings of the churches begin to clatter announcing the arrival of the world of crucifix.
